Your Beacon, By the SEA
A private beach house in Mombasa Kenya, lovingly restored from the 90’s.
Our Maritime Story
For centuries, sailors entered Mombasa’s harbour guided by a solitary white beacon on the shore.
This coastline was the entry point into East Africa — connecting Kenya to the Gulf, India, and beyond.
From Casa Del Mar, that same beacon still stands in full view: a rare piece of maritime history and a symbol of safe passage
Once a beacon for sailors, now an emblem for travellers. Here, the sea greets you at the door.
Our Design
The restoration design draws on the traditions of Swahili architecture, with clean lines, arched doorways, and a focus on light and air.
Vintage marble floors have been preserved, highlighted by natural textures, carved wood, and coastal finishes.
The house itself is the destination, inviting you to rest and be restored, just as lovingly as she was.

Our Promise: The White Beacon
This white beacon has watched over Mombasa for generations — and is now the soul of our home. From the villa’s terrace, the view leads you directly to its eminence. It symbolises Casa Del Mar’s promise— a beacon of pause and restoration.
Our HomeTown: mombasa
Mombasa is the soul of the Swahili coast — here you experience authentic Swahili culture. 80% of the population are locals, unlike other touristy towns.
We can arrange guided food tours or cultural walks through Old Town and Fort Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
